Treatment Philosophy: One often enters therapy to relieve emotional suffering that has existed for several years and had painful impact upon one’s life. Sometimes therapy begins under duress, at the direction and control of family, a spouse, an employer, or a court. Whatever the impetus, therapy is a journey of telling of one’s story, discovery, healing, and setting and achieving therapeutic goals. The therapist’s role is to assist, to walk along side, not direct or lead, a client through his or her journey to achieve their desired goals.
Treatment Approach: Ken employs Client-centered, Cognitive-Behavioral, Insight, Interpersonal, and Family Systems therapies often coupled with client-appropriate psycho-education that may include biographies/novels, workbooks, and movies.
Specialties: A licensed marriage and family therapist. Her practice includes mood and personality disorders, anxiety disorders, Marriage/Family/Relationship issues, life stages and transitions, women's issues, self-concept and esteem issues.

Life is difficult, it is filled with challenges that are often times a result of things that are out of our control. I am here to help you with many of these challenges. A good portion of my background is in dealing with acutely ill patients in the emergency and trauma setting. The one thing that I came to realize is that mental health affects all aspects of our lives, that is why I am here to help you become the healthiest you, you can be.
While I am trained as a family nurse practitioner, part of that training includes how to handle depression, anxiety, substance use disorders and many others. My true passion is in helping members of the LGBTQ+ communities who face additional barriers to good health. I also specialize in helping first responders and crisis workers in dealing with post traumatic stress disorder as well as issues around vicarious traumatization as a result of years of charging in, where others run away. Finally, I have a great deal of experience dealing with our veterans. You have served your country and fellow citizens faithfully and with honor, but you may have come away from those experiences with some trauma or other issues. Let me help you explore those challenges with you to start the process of healing those unseen wounds.
If any of this has spoken to you on a deeply personal level, please feel free to reach out to me and I promise to support and guide you along your journey to full mental health.
